Making the plans...

Hi everyone... Time to start planning the 2012 party!
Here is what we are thinking.... We haven't been keeping close track of people's comings and goings yet, but we imagine most people will be there by Saturday, June 30th.  Many have taken the week off, and all are welcome to stay as long as you want.

Right now, the main events will be as follows as long as it seems to work for everyone.  We are very flexible.

BOAT RACE... probably on Sunday... Bring stuff to decorate and prepare..  Steve and Jean, can you be there Sunday? Could we have the boats on Sunday....Natalie and Scott will be the Masters of Ceremony

NEW race... maybe Sunday as well...  PLEASE save empty plastic water/soda bottles and bring as many as you can with you. Also, could I ask each family to bring a roll of duct tape?  We will be making rafts out of the water bottles.  For those of you on Pinterest, check out my Danfourth board and see the rafts.

SHIRTS....  Saturday and Sunday...Please bring a white shirt and a dark shirt if you are interested..  There are a variety of options this year.  One involves bleach pens (already purchased) , tie dye of course,  another one involves Sharpies and alcohol, and finally one that involves Elmers glue.  If you want to try them all... bring several shirts, socks or pillowcases.  Bring any Sharpies you have laying around...

TOTEM POLE building... I want to make a totem pole this year.  Each family should begin planning their part.  It should be made of wood or material that will withstand the outdoors, and your piece should be able to be attached to a tall wooden pole.  I'm thinking 2 feet wide by  12-18 inches tall for each section. If you do not bring your family to the 4th... we'll make small groups of people to work together.

LEFT RIGHT CENTER:  Saturday Night  I have a new twist to add!!!  It involves a red white and blue pig!

WEREWOLVES:  Saturday or Sunday Night   Scott is Master of Ceremonies

FLOATING:  Saturday, Sunday etc.  I bought 8 new floaty chairs and a boat for Natalie!

KUBB  and QUOITS throughout week... Quoits is a new game to us... but Scott has been playing it in Bangor in his grandparent's basement for years...  I had to go to a company in Bangor, PA to order the beach version.   Think donut shaped horseshoes.

FIREWORKS... Saturday OR Sunday night.  Derek is the Master of Ceremonies!  Derek, pick a day and Post it!!

RIVER RIDE?  If anyone wants to go... Monday or Tuesday

CHURCH: Sunday Morning at 10:00 at Calumet

Meals:

Sunday Lunch:  Elise and Derek, Michael and friends, The Lamothe's

Debbie can you shed some light on what I should bring? also, Peter L I think you are working on this with us what are your ideas?

    See you soon!
